Fruchtmarkt Bingen: Office building with commercial units
A building with ‘added value’
At the start of construction, the former gas station was demolished and the soil was decontaminated. Now the building’s shell is already in place, offering a glimpse of its future appearance. This hub—which is important not only to residents but also to tourists as a gateway from the Rhine to the city center—will be visually enhanced by the new building and, once completed, will blend harmoniously into the neighborhood thanks to its color scheme and choice of materials.
In the four-story building, the Sparkasse will occupy the ground floor as well as the first and second floors. On the ground floor, service advisors welcome their customers in a spacious lobby. This is also where the reception area is located for anyone who has scheduled a consultation, which takes place on the first floor. The first floor also features a space for events. The second floor houses modern workspaces and quiet rooms, while two residential units are being built on the top floor for rental to third parties.
With a so-called “pop-up space,” the new advisory center offers regional businesses and organizations space to showcase their products and services. “With our themed rooms and the exhibition space, we’ll create the greatest possible flexibility. We or our regional partners will be able to host events or small trade shows in our multifunctional event area,” says Brendel. The design of the themed rooms will be based on “Bingen themes”: one room will be modeled after a “wine bar,” while another will be dedicated to “Rhine Romanticism.” Furthermore, the consultation rooms also have a regional focus: on Stefan George, Hildegard von Bingen, Klopp Castle, the annual “Rhine in Flames” festival, and the Bingen area.
There will also be spacious waiting areas with free Wi-Fi and space for confidential client meetings. In addition, a “marketplace” will serve as a communication hub, providing a space for employees to interact—a concept that has already received very positive feedback from employees at the S Finanz Forum in Bad Kreuznach and the new advisory center in Ingelheim.
In addition, a fully automated customer safe deposit box system will be installed, accessible via the spacious self-service area. Sales Director Jürgen Saurwein explains: “Our customers can retrieve their valuables without having to wait for assistance from our staff. This is a service that’s well-suited to the times.”
