Benefit concert at Lulu – singing and dancing for a good cause!

Last Friday evening there was singing and dancing for a good cause at Lulu in Mainz. And the whole thing from ‘Thomas Neger and the Humbas’ together with the St. Martin inclusion band, the ‘Alpina Miezis’.

The St. Martin House is a facility run by the Caritas Association Mainz e.V., where around 50 children, teenagers and young adults with severe multiple disabilities find a loving home. The voluntary circle of friends, with our managing director Tina Badrot as the initiator, is committed to improving the quality of life of the young residents. As part of the ‘Kleckerkett’ carnival fundraising campaign, a benefit concert was launched this year. We are collecting money for this: The kitchen is currently being converted to be barrier-free, which can currently only be used by employees and should also be made accessible to young people with disabilities. As in every family, the new kitchen should serve as a common center of life for cooking and baking activities.

With this heartwarming goal in mind, the concert was put into practice – and many supporters helped. Donations in the form of technology, advertising materials, food and drinks and much more from various companies made the benefit concert possible. The concert was opened at the crazy time of 6:11 p.m. by the popular carnival singer Pit Rösch. Afterwards, the inclusion band of the House of St. Martin, the ‘Alpina Miezis’ and Thomas Neger and the Humbaus ensured a carnival atmosphere and good entertainment for the guests on stage with classics such as ‘Rucki Zucki’. The concert enjoyed a high number of visitors and a significant donation of over 9,000 euros has already been raised.

A great start, but more donations are needed for the accessible kitchen! That’s why the ‘Kleckerkett’ fundraising campaign is running throughout the entire 2023/2024 carnival campaign and the St. Martin House and its residents are happy about any further support!

You can also support children, teenagers and young adults by making a donation here.
