Curious Future Insight Conference

Mainz and the InnovationLabz present themselves as a pioneering biotech location
For two days, the Rheingoldhalle in Mainz was the venue for a spectacular event that fits perfectly with the dynamic development in Mainz: the Curious Future Insight Conference. The conference, launched in 2018 by the Darmstadt-based pharmaceutical company Merck, brings together scientists from different disciplines to discuss the major social questions of the present in the areas of innovation and technology. Official partners of the event included “InnovationLabz” / Innovationspark Mainz GmbH Co. KG, as a regional Mainz laboratory building developer.
Mainz presents itself as an up-and-coming biotech location
The fact that the trade fair took place in Mainz this year is also due to the special attention that the Rhineland-Palatinate state capital has been receiving for some time as an aspiring location for biotechnology, life sciences and pharmaceuticals. Lectures, workshops, information stands from start-ups and established players – the conference enabled lively exchanges in a wide variety of formats. Top-class guests, including numerous Nobel Prize winners, underline the special profile of the world-renowned Curious Future Insight Conference. As an outstanding representative of Mainz’s biotech success, Prof. Uğur Şahin gave the keynote speech at the conference, which attracted hundreds of guests from Germany, Europe and all over the world to Mainz.
InnovationLabz attract attention
The conference was therefore also the ideal stage for the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, the city of Mainz and regional players to present themselves to the international audience as an attractive location for biotechnology, life science and pharmaceuticals. A beacon in this development is clearly the new biotech campus at the entrance to Mainz city, in the immediate vicinity of the University of Mainz and numerous well-known research institutes. The InnovationLabz laboratory buildings are currently being built on the site and are being developed by the regional investors J. Molitor Immobilien GmbH, G. L. Kayser Immobilien GmbH and IMG Immobilien Gesellschaft Mainz mbH. Many visitors to the conference took the opportunity to find out about the current laboratory and office building projects LAB 1 and LAB 2 in the InnovationLabz presentation area. The flexible rental options, the co-working spaces planned for LAB 2 and the particularly sustainable building concepts were of particular interest.
