LAB 1: Completion this year

One year after the groundbreaking ceremony, the opening building for the new biotech site at the entrance to Mainz has clearly taken shape. Innovationspark Mainz GmbH & Co. KG, a merger of regional investors J. Molitor Immobilien GmbH, G.L. Kayser Immobilien GmbH and IGM Immobilien Gesellschaft Mainz mbH, announced: “The first laboratory and office building of the `Innovationlabz´ will be ready for occupancy this year.” Completion of the approximately 3,000 square meter building designed by Ries + Ries Architekten was originally planned for summer 2025. LAB 1, which will house the companies Lifecare and Lignilabs, among others, is being built on the new biotech campus in the immediate vicinity of the University of Mainz and numerous research institutes. The next part of the “Innovationlabz”, LAB 2, is already in concrete planning. Here, around 9,000 square meters will be used for coworking spaces with flexible rental laboratory and office workstations.
