8th Life Science and Biotech Meetup – in Lab 1!
On Thursday evening, Lab 1, the first laboratory and office building on the new biotech campus at the entrance to Mainz city, was the venue for the 8th Life Science and Biotech Meetup. The event began with a tour of Lab 1, which will be occupied by the first tenants as early as November 2024. Within just 18 months of the ceremonial groundbreaking, Innovationspark Mainz GmbH Co. KG has “delivered” the first laboratory building. And from the project developers’ point of view, things should continue just as dynamically: At the Meetup, Tina Badrot and Tim Gemünden, together with partners Edmund Schmitz and Uwe Borgmann, provided information about the further plans for the “Innovationlabz” site. There was particularly great interest in the exclusive first insights into the plans for the laboratory and office building Lab 2, which will be built on campus in the next step. In the lecture part of the Meetup, visitors were able to listen to the lecture “Development of a glucose sensor based on nanotechnology” by Prof. Dr. Dr. Andreas Pfützner from Lifecare. As the future tenant of Lab 1, the Norwegian medical device company is one of the pioneers of the new biotechnology area. The future Lab 1 tenant LigniLabs also presented itself as part of the tour and with a stand at the meetup. The Life Science Center Mainz also presented itself with BioVAtion RLP startup incubator “LiSCi RLP”. Dr. Kyriakos Eslahian spoke on “Applied Microspheres and Networking Potential at biomindz”. In addition to the professional exchange, the participants then took the opportunity to network. The evening was rounded off with excellent food and a fantastic view of the campus area from the Lab 1 launch building. An all-round successful event – many thanks to everyone who was there!
