It is not just the archaeologists at the Rhineland-Palatinate General Directorate for Cultural Heritage (GDKE) who are unable to resist \u2018the LU:RE of Mainz treasures\u2019. Since the start of the year, they have been unearthing many a relic from the Middle Ages and the Roman period on the construction site for the new LU: complex. <\/span>Many members of the public are also regularly using the LU: container on Bischofsplatz to get an idea of the progress of the archaeological excavations. <\/span><\/p>\n Now the LU: project developers \u2013 J. Molitor Immobilien GmbH, Sparkasse Rhein-Nahe and St Martin\u2019s Cathedral as project partners for the building section on Fuststra\u00dfe \u2013 together with the GDKE, invite you to take part in a special inner-city experience. On Friday, 8 September 2023, from 1 to 6 p.m., those who are attracted to \u2018the LU:RE of Mainz treasure\u2019 can spend the afternoon on the construction site on Bischofsplatz. <\/span><\/p>\n The archaeologists from the GDKE will present selected finds from the Middle Ages and Roman period and give groups a guided tour of the excavation site. Anyone who is similarly unable to resist the \u2018LU:RE of Mainz treasures\u2019 and wishes to take part will need to register.
