The residential complex has been awarded the status of a sustainable asset in line with the approval criteria of Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) and is thus now classified as an Article <span>8<\/span> product. Article <span>8<\/span> products are those that seek sustainable investment. Environmental goals, but also sociocultural aspects are defined and taken as a basis for classification as an Article 8 product.     <\/p>\n<p><strong>What makes \u2018Hildegardis \u2013 The Urban Oasis\u2019 so sustainable?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Environmental goals <\/strong> \u2013 One of the key pillars of sustainability. In the residential complex \u2018Hildegardis \u2013 The Urban Oasis\u2019, for example, these are achieved by generating sustainable energy and meeting the requirements of the KfW55 standard. The energy comes from the earth in the form of environmentally friendly geothermal energy (click <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=3hc82-BXvTM\">HERE<\/a><\/strong> to find out more about geothermal energy).  Another sustainable element is e-mobility. All parking spaces in the underground car park have the latest charging infrastructure. Building materials can also be sustainable. Only natural and solvent-free varnishes, adhesives and paints have been used in the \u2018Urban Oasis\u2019. The inner-city problem of soil sealing is curbed by surface infiltration, which benefits the immediate surroundings as well as nature. Extensive roof greening and the increased planting of foliage plants and hedges have not only preserved the green spaces and tree population that have grown over decades, but actually expanded them. The result is a relaxing place filled with light, air and a green flair.      <\/p>\n<p><strong>Sociocultural aspects <\/strong> \u2013 The residential complex has demonstrably created various values in terms of its sociocultural aspects A quarter of the living space in the \u2018Hildegardis \u2013 The Urban Oasis\u2019 project has been designated as social housing. This appeals to a wide range of tenants and makes an important contribution to the provision of affordable, inner-city homes in times of housing shortages. In terms of the architecture, the complex has been recognised for its highly efficient use of the space, its needs-based approach to the number of homes built and the marketable nature of these homes. Lifts in every building provide step-free access from the underground car park to the apartment. In addition, at least ten per cent of the residential units have barrier-free access. Terraces and balconies in at least 80 per cent of the apartments contribute to the high-quality feel of the accommodation in Mainz\u2019s \u2018Urban Oasis\u2019 along with the lovingly designed green outdoor spaces.     <\/p>\n<p>All of these elements provide tangible benefits and offer residents a good quality of life. Being reclassified as an Article 8 product also brings economic benefits. The ensemble has been classed as a sustainable asset and can call itself ESG-compliant.
